MY TRUE FRIEND
My Knight has more understanding
Seeing my weakness and imperfection
Yet withdraws not one iota of friendship
Looking more deeply to understand better
And loves unconditionally
Caring more what happens to me than himself
Coming to my rescue when I am most forlorn
Never letting me feel I have to fight my battles
Or experience my joys and defeats alone
Always beside me celebrating or fighting alongside
Encouraging me with heart and soul
Using sympathy to make the world a warmer place
And when I am with him
I am in another world
Because he is my true friend

THE WAY AHEAD
If dreams come crashing down
It's not the end of a dream
Just a set-back
Whatever the circumstance
The golden rule is the same
Never water the ashes with your tears
For nothing will grow from there
The way ahead is to look at the awfulness
And then turn your back at them
As you strive to build afresh
And refuse to be beaten
There is no future in living with disappointment
Only in rising above it
Don't lose heart, don't lose confidence, and don't lose faith
And tomorrow will bring a better day
